2008 SHARPAROON REUNION
The 2008 Sharparoon, Green Acres, Teen Valley camp reunion was held on Saturday, May 24th at the Presbyterian Camp in Holmes, NY. The camp is located less than 20 miles from Sharparoon and the location is similar to the picturesque property around Dover Furnace. We had a good turnout with between 80 and 90 attendees.

We have opened a blog post for anyone that would like to comment about their reunion experience or about any of the slide show photos.

Joni (Zaccara) Park brought a large group of old Sharparoon, Teen Valley and Green Acres photos. Joni's collection also included many Group Staff photos that are not included in the Camp Staff Page in the Sharparoon Blog section. The staff photos will be scanned and added to the Camp Staff page in early July.
Scanning of the general interest photos has been completed and a special slide show has been added to display these photos. (The 64 new photos will be integrated into the Memory Lane slide show within the next month.)

Hello Sharparoon/Green Acres Alumni:
Most of you are aware that the NYCMS Sharparoon/Green Acres camping programs as we knew them ceased to exist years ago.
We were disappointed that the official NYCMS) website had no mention of any of the Camp Sharparoon, Green Acres, or Teen Valley camping programs’ history.
Last spring City Mission (NYCMS) made a decision to cease using the Dover Plains properties for any activities.
Therefore, there were no camping programs at all; nor were private groups allowed to rent the complex for retreats and other activities.
For those of us wondering about any possible reopening, we were informed that the Board of Directors would be placing the sale of the camp property on the agenda.
We will keep you informed about current events regarding the future of the NYCMS camping program.
This website is dedicated to you, Sharparooners, to help you connect with past friends and to reminisce about your camp experience.
